PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS

 Prospective students may try a week of classes completely free of charge. If you prefer to watch a class, feel free to drop by any of our scheduled classes.

REGULAR MEMBERSHIP FEES

Applies to anyone who wishes to train in one or more martial styles.

Applies to those who wish to train only in Kenjutsu or only in Iaido.

VISITOR FEES

Practicing martial artists visiting from outside the region who wish to attend classes for a single day within a single style. Note that we do not offer a daily, drop-in or visitor rate for dojo members.

FAMILY RATES

Family members of existing members of the Ottawa Aikikai Dojo receive a 25% discount on their membership fees (applied to the lower dollar amount family member’s rate).

MILITARY & FIRST RESPONDERS

Effective September 2019 the dojo offers our discounted Students and Seniors membership rates for those who are Currently Serving Members of the Military (Regular Force and Reserve Force members) or First Responders. If you are currently a Currently Serving Member of the Military or a First Responder, please show an appropriate piece of identification to the Chief Instructor of the style you are practicing or to a current Board member.

AIKIDO BEGINNER PACKAGE*

A special introductory package for first time Aikido and Jiu Jitsu practitioners offers savings with combined 3-month membership fees and gi (uniform) purchase. This package is available for $400 for adult members, or $300 for students.

KENJUTSU BEGINNER PACKAGE*

Students may purchase either of the following Beginner Packages:

  1. $210 - a bokken and credit for 15 kenjutsu classes; or

  2. $250 - a bokken, gi, and credit for 15 kenjutsu classes.

*Beginner packages are not subject to other discounts.


PAYMENT INFORMATION

  • If you are a dojo member in good standing, you can expect an emailed invoice from our DojoExpert management system on the first day of each payment period.

  • All of our posted prices and prices quoted on invoices are inclusive of 13% HST.

  • Our preferred method of payment is via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) through your bank. Please direct your EFT to our account 'finance' at our domain 'ottawaaikikaidojo.com'. Notes explaining the allocation and breakdown of the payment would be appreciated (e.g. full name(s), duration, gi purchase, etc).

  • If using cheques, make them payable to “Ottawa Aikikai” and deposit them in the brown safe bolted to the desk at the entrance to the dojo office.

  • We discourage cash payments, please. If absolutely necessary, please place the funds in a marked envelope with explanatory notes written on it. Please deposit it in the brown safe on the desk at the entrance to the dojo office.

  • All fees are non-refundable and must be paid in advance.

  • The Ottawa Aikikai does not offer pro-rated (e.g. half-month) pricing. All fees are from the first of a calendar month until the last day of the subscription period.

  • Note that we do not offer a daily, drop-in or visitor rate for dojo members.

  • Students, military and first responders must present a valid ID card showing their status.

  • Members who have been in good standing for 5 years and are over the age of 65 are eligible for the senior rate; members who have been in good standing for 5 years and are between 60 and 65 may also be eligible for the senior rate, subject to Board approval.
